The Leadership Fix is grounded in decades of research in psychology, neuroscience, and organizational behavior. My work rests on a few simple, science-based truths:

  1. Businesses are organized groups of people creating value to serve other people.

  2. All people need to feel connected and valued in order to feel psychologically safe.

  3. When people feel connected and valued, they’re more engaged, creative, and committed.

  4. Leaders set the tone — through words, actions, and norms — for connection, safety, and stretch.

  5. Real change is possible at any age through mindful, deliberate habit-building.

  6. Mindfulness is the mechanism that makes habit change stick; it allows us to notice patterns and choose responses that serve us.

  7. Habits built in pursuit of reward, not avoidance of punishment, create more lasting and joyful change.

  8. Coaching provides the knowledge, structure, accountability, and inspiration to make those changes permanent.

The Program

 

The Leadership Fix is a high-touch, six-month coaching journey that helps leaders transform how they think, feel, and lead. It combines one-on-one coaching, experiential learning, and peer accountability to move leaders forward — fast — toward confident, excellent leadership.

Phase One: The Inner Work of Leadership

Leaders begin by developing deeper self-knowledge and emotional intelligence. Through mindfulness-based coaching, they learn to regulate emotions, stay grounded under pressure, and replace reactive habits with intentional ones — the foundation of behavioral agility and authentic leadership.

Phase Two: Leading Culture and Others

Next, leaders apply their new awareness to their teams and organizations. They learn how to shape culture, strengthen engagement, and inspire creativity. Along the way, they cultivate a coaching habit of their own — passing forward what they’ve learned and modeling the leadership they wish to see.

Program Structure and Support

Each element of The Leadership Fix is designed for both momentum and integration:

  • Private Coaching: Two 75-minute sessions per month with Dr. Rivlin to practice mindfulness, clear obstacles, deepen insight, and commit to aligned action.

  • Monthly Skills Workshops: Focused sessions that teach tools of mindfulness, emotional intelligence, habit-building, and relationship skills, as related to leadership.

  • Spot Coaching: Up to two 30-minute phone sessions during the program for real-time support with live workplace challenges — such as conflict resolution, preparing for a high-stakes meeting, or debriefing after a difficult conversation.

The six-month commitment ensures the time, structure, and accountability necessary for real transformation — not quick fixes, but lasting change.
